I'm trying to capture footage from my DVD player into my Avid by RCA cables through my Sony DSR-11 DVCam deck (which is firewire into Avid). I'm getting picture, but no audio. Cables seem to be patched correctly. There is definitely audio on the DVD. My input select is switched to "video" on my DVCam deck.

Thanks for the help. I was now able to get the signal through to my TV from the DeckLink card after installing the newest Desktop Video drivers and rebooted, after that Avid MC restarted and then the MC main windows was titled "Avid Media Composer Decklink Extreme 4K" and the button for external display and the options showed "video out".

I do think if can stretch to get the Volvere. Sequel gets you closer to the Acutus. The Acutus is Absolutely there with the best turntables available. The finish/quality on all the Avid decks are top notch. If your stretching the budget go with a Rega arm and maybe upgrade later. Can you tello I love Avid decks.. you bet.

The best is to have the tape deck resolve the SMPTE code, so that it diddles the tach motors on the transport till it's in sync to an absolute clock. Another thing you could try would be to stripe SMPTE on a track of the Analog deck... and use that code alone to drive PT during the session. I've had luck with this method before.
