-10 works for me as all music in Avid is rough cut only. (Full level audio is imported into to Protools for the mix.) If "for a long time" the first thing you did with any music clip in your doco timeline was lower the volume by 15 then -15 would be an idea for that sort of projects audio imports. Or for a music video 0 might be most appropriate.

But you don't have to mix to any specific level. Mastering engineer is happier to get a mix with peaks at -20dBFS than at -2dBFS. Getting the levels where needed is his job, not yours.
