AVI files are supposed to be compatible with MM but when I import an avi file (from my Vado HD pocket camcorder) MM can only play the audio, there is no video. WMP can play both audio and video fine, it’s just MM that’s having a problem. I’ve downloaded lots of codecs including the windows essential service pack which includes ffdshow.

I'm trying to convert .vob files from a CD-ROM to .avi files so that I can edit them on Windows Movie Maker (version 6.0, Service Pack 1) and post them on youtube.
