Ron, I set up a share with everyone having read permissions. I set up a local user for the audiotron: Audi, password protected. Then on the Audiotron I entered the username as: VISTA-MCE\\audi. VISTA-MCE is the computer name. Enterred the password and saved changes. Rebooting the audiotron then found the share and loaded the library.

I have an Audiotron(attached to stereo) connected to my home network with music files on a separate drive. I just switched from xp pro to vista business and when I turn on the audiotron it searches for music and it see's the computer that has the music drive, but will not read it. The drive is shared.--tom

1) Turn OFF password protected sharing. 2) Set permissions on Shared folder you want Audiotron to access. 3) For any other shared folders, ensure that permissions are set so that only the people that you want to access the folder can access it. 4) Apply everything, and re-search for the files in Audiotron.

I have an audiotron, which is basically a music bridge, attached to my network. It reads & plays my music files to home stereo from an internal hard drive on my computer. It works fine in XP and Vista and it did work fine when I upgraded to win7.
