I've used Audioquest Type 2 for close to 6 years as a bi-wire cable. I have used solid core cable since DNM pioneered their use in the UK in 1984. The secret to using solid core is to use the smallest diameter possible and only a single core. Therefore I wanted a 2 pair solid core design.

Type 2 is pretty good but it's too small for me (17 AWG cable). So I used it in a double run (similar to biwire). That is, I used the whole cable for one positive and another cable for one negative. This makes about 14 AWG cable, which is bigger and better than Type 4 for the same price.

I ditched the monster cable after a day and ended up purchasing the audioquest type 2. Although A LOT of consideration was put into the Kimber 4PR's. The price was better on the audioq and was getting it from a great, respectable company like Onecall, I like the way they do buisness. The great clarity of type 2 really stood out immediately.

I have two sources telling me two different things about how they use the Audioquest Type 4+ cable (two 17 gauge and two 20 gauge conductors). One claims that it is a biwire cable (skinny pair for the highs and fat for the lows), while the other says it is intended to be used as a non-biwire (one skinny and one fat to each terminal) and that you need to run two …
