The cost of quality 'audiophile' solder is low enough to use in hi-def audio projects that proof isn't required. It can't hurt, and it just might help.

For parts without a high proportion of silver in their leads, it is a solid choice. But for surface mount devices you need some silver content, I'll defer to the SMD wizards for advice.
