"M Audio Audiophile 2496" user should imediatley jump to Troubleshoot. Thou this is a damn idiot suggestion since the Troubleshoot section doest NOT even talk about a similar problem. My Device manager shows the driver only as "M Audio Audiophile", it does not apear as "M-Audio Audiophile 2496" like the manual says it should.

I've got a 2496 and sx - should work ok. Does the card produce sound (in and out) regardless of cubase? If so then you hvean't selected the card in the cubase devices menu. If the card isn't making sounds outside of cubase then you need to open the delta control panel (bottom right of the screen) and make sure it's turned on.

If you can't get the 2496 working (and if it isn't because the card itself is faulty), then it's a driver incompatibility issue. In that case, my gut feeling would be that buying another M-Audio product might end you up in the same boat. (It's surely a possibility that all the Delta drivers could share some common core code).
