Audiolab 8000AP review | What Hi-Fi?

    https://www.whathifi.com/audiolab/8000ap/review
We tested the forerunner to Audiolab 8000AP/8000X7 processor/power amplifier combination in our Awards 2006 issue, and found it to be a seductive listen hamstrung by a lack of modern audio- and picture-processing facilities. Some 18 months later, Audiolab has tried to address some of our concerns, but that long a timespan is an eternity in ...

The Audiolab 8000AP is an interesting unit. It combines great aesthetics and a small form factor into a rock solid package. It is not going to win a “battle of the silk-screened logos”, but then I find many of those logos irrelevant for my own day-to-day use.

Audiolab 8000A/8000P Amplifier review and test

Audiolab 8000A/8000P Amplifier This pair of the British amplifiers was not quite "correct" two-block amplifier. And if in reality 8000P is a power amp, the "preamp" 8000A is a complete integrated amplifier which acts in this configuration as a preliminary one.

Having owned the Audiolab 8000A series III for a number of years I can give, I hope, a reasonably accurate account of it. I bought it at the time for its accuracy - being partnered with a mildly warm Philips CD850 and mildly forward Tannoy 613's. In reality, it is mildly coloured. Mid range is slightly forward and hi treble is rolled back.

Audiolab 8000P Stereo Power Amplifier - Hi-Fi-Insight

    http://www.hi-fi-insight.com/audiolab-8000p-stereo-power-amplifier.html
The Audiolab 8000P Stereo Power Amplifier is a vastly underated amplifier first launched in the mid eighties after Audiolab had scored tremendous success with their first product, the 8000A Integrated Amplifier. Originally sold for £400, the original Audiolab 8000P Stereo Power Amplifier was loved by many but also hated by a few others.

Audiolab 8200AP review - Home Cinema Choice

Audiolab says this processor eschews frivolous bells and whistles, but is that taking it a step too far? Actually, probably not. If you are in the market for nearly £1,300 worth of AV processor then it is a pretty safe bet that you will spend a fair bit of cash on a top-spec BD player. Nearly all Blu-ray decks can decode Dolby and DTS formats ...

Audiolab replaced it with a brand new unit which I was happy about. Anyway, the new unit worked fine to begin with but ran extremely hot (I'm talking electric heater hot). After a few months of use, the unit started to produce a very loud crackle though the right channel every 10 mins or so. It was sent back to the factory once again.
