Having owned the Audiolab 8000A series III for a number of years I can give, I hope, a reasonably accurate account of it. I bought it at the time for its accuracy - being partnered with a mildly warm Philips CD850 and mildly forward Tannoy 613's. In reality, it is mildly coloured. Mid range is slightly forward and hi treble is rolled back.

I was quite happy with my 8000A paired with first one PX, and then I upgraded to a 8000C with 2 PX's; before switching to Tag, and monoblocs. eBay prices for old (and to be honest it is all very old now) audiolab kit are grossly overinflated.
