The 8000A has pre out and power in jacks and can be used as a pre or a power amp. To be used as a preamp, simply connect to a power amp. The pre and power sections are connected internally. Active Member. Dec 8, 2016. #2. You could run the powered sub from one of the Audiolab 8000a pre out sockets and set the sub to the 65Hz setting, it would be much easier to wire up this way. The only thing you would need to do is adjust the subs volume once to match it with the Quads, then leave it and enjoy. Adam.
