Feb 7, 2008. Messages. 982. Hello [H]. I currently enjoy a pair of Audioengine A5s and a 12" Velodyne sub with a Auzentech HTHD source for gaming, movies and general rocking out. I want to expand to 5.1 surround, which has always been the intention. I've been told that the Audioengine A2s do a fine job as rear channel paired with the A5s, which ...

5.0 star rating 02/22/19. Believe the Hype about Audioengine. I bought the A5+ Classic Speakers and a Sub-woofer to be used as the sound system for my PC Gaming set-up. I noticed that a boutique PC builder I follow was offering Audioengine speakers as part of their PC builds, so that was recommendation enough for me.

The Audioengine S8 Subwoofer was designed to pair perfectly with Audioengine’s many powered speaker systems, giving you control of the frequency crossover, phase, and volume of the subwoofer, separately from the main speakers. These features, along with the subwoofer’s low-key aesthetic, allow you to experiment with the placement of the ...

Audioengine D1: Verdict. The D1 is happy driving a wide range of headphones – all it lacks sonically is a touch of rhythmic fluidity and a small degree of precision. Still, the D1 remains a fine buy. See all our DAC Best Buys. Follow …

AudioEngine A5 + AS8 + A2 = 4.1 Surround Sound? | AVS Forum

It sounded good. I bet the Audioengines will be fine as well. The annoyance that I foresee is having 3 power switches (one for each of: A2, A5, AS8). Also, you should be able to achieve the same thing with a much cheaper and/or internal card. Any 5.1 card should work.
