    The 2 Creative services that run in the Service Control Panel that regulate the Dolby sound do make the audiodg.exe bleed more memory then normal and exaserbate the problem. If you do not use Dolby sound you can turn off these 2 services and it will quiet down the memory leakage from the audiodg,exe file when its in use. Report abuse

    Every time a Steam sound plays, memory usage of audiodg.exe slightly increases. WORKAROUND Disable Steam sounds: go to Steam -> Settings -> Friends and disable all the sounds. This way, you won't hear any sounds when people send you text messages, but also audiodg.exe won't experience the Memory Leak.

    Upon further digging around...it seems to be that audiodg.exe itself is (and has been) a critical leaking flaw of Windows since Vista...it doesn't release the memory it "gathers" when sounds are being played.

    Upon re-boot, Vista will reinstall the device drivers it needs. scvhost runs Vista system services, one of them being audio. I'm hoping that the uninstall/ reinstall of audio devices will level out the memory leak in audiodg.exe. It obviously should not be utilizing 768 MB RAM!
