AudioControl is good stuff don't get me wrong and your plan is sound. Going active LOC over a solid passive LOC will gain you an improvment. But, from my experience, going to a unit like the cleansweep or RF should be a consideration if not a serious one vs the EQX.

Yes AudioControl Product rock your ears off. I have 2. I have LC8i and EQS. IF you want your system factor hu and after market speakers audiocontrol is the way to go. IF it wasn't for my EQS from Audioconrol my system would sounded good but with EQS it sound like no other system i have ever heard it so clear and crisp and loud with tons of bass.

The installer returned it and got a new unit which performed as expected. I've spent quite a bit of time in the DSP software tweaking EQs, x-overs, speaker distance, using a microphone and RTA etc.. and I'm still not 100% happy with the over all sound of the system.

There is a hiss coming thru the speakers after I installed your product. The two most common reasons for hiss is either a grounding issue, or a gain staging issue. To troubleshoot if it is a grounding issue, the first thing to do is to change the grounding jumper position on the unit. You can find the position of that jumper here.
