Sure, it's been a standard feature of ATI cards since the HD 2900 XT, but it required a special DVI -> HDMI dongle capable of passing through the audio. However, the ATI cards has sound via dvi-to-hdmi cable, so why doesnt nvidia? On ati cards it also comes with sound drivers where you can choose between the ati card or soundcard. If I use DVI-HDMI adapter that came with the gfx card (9800GTX+) and use HDMI cable from the adpter to the monitor.
