Sound Activated Lights Circuit - ElectroSchematics.com

    https://www.electroschematics.com/sound-activated-lights-circuit/
Connect the microphone to the sount activated lights circuit using a short length of shielded wire. Enclose the microphone in a tube to increase its sensitivity. Caution: Since the sound activated lights uses 230V AC, many of its points are at AC mains voltage. It could give you lethal shock if you are not careful.

Audio-to-Light Modulator Kit

    https://www.circuitspecialists.com/kit-12.html
A music to light modulator is a circuit that controls the intensity of one or more lights in response to the level of an audio input. The problem in older circuits is that there was a direct electrical connection between the lights using mains voltage (110 to 250V AC) and the amplifier circuit low voltage (9 to 12V) levels.

Try It At Home: Turning Sound Into Light | NASA Blueshift

The first step is something you’ve probably done thousands of times before: insert the 1/8″ plug into your audio source. We used an mp3 player, but you can use any sound-producing device that has the appropriate jack. The other end of this audio cable should have two bare wires coming out of it. Clip one test lead to each of these wires.

Audio-Controlled Disco Light Controller Circuit – Deeptronic

    https://www.deeptronic.com/electronic-circuit-design/audio-controlled-dicso-light-controller-circuit/
A standard audio power amplifier output, which usually drive loudspeaker, can used to drive this disco light circuit. With this circuit we don’t need light jockey anymore, because the flashing of the light will be directly controlled by the music signal itself. The schematic diagram of the circuit is shown in the Figure 2.

The circuit uses a LM358 dual operational amplifier with a single supply voltage from a 9 volt battery. It is a single supply and referenced to 0 volts or ground there is no negative voltage anywhere. There can't be a negative voltage. I think you need to read and understand the data sheet for the LM358 and what a single supply actually means.
