The HA5000 also sounded great with the AD2000, but I also think the AD2000 sounds great with other amps such as the CEC HD53R, Corda Aria, and Lehmann BCL. As to be expected, I feel the HA5000 improved the W5000's sound much more relative to other amps than the AD2000. it's pity I can't find some discuss about what AMP has best synerg with AD2000

    12. It looks like I am going to be receiving the Audio Technica AT-HA5000 much sooner than I planned this year. I would appreciate it greatly if current owners would chime in about theirs especially if you already own the ATH-W5000 headphones as well. Thank you. Apr 4, 2010 at 7:56 AM Post #2 of 35.

This post, about a push-pull MOSFET output stage for a headphone amp, got me thinking again about the Audio Technica AT-HA5000, which is something of a benchmark in its class. The "basic" signal circuit (nota complete schematic, it's clearly missing some ancillary details) is attached below. Probably out of MJ originally.

An original AT HA-5000 would set you back ~1200 USD. 2 pairs of output MOSFETs cost ~ 20 USD alone when they were still available. A Japanese R-Core transformer easily 200 USD. One of these clones is ~ 110 USD on ebay. So you get what you pay for. The output MOSFETs are removed from equipment.
