Audio-Technica ATM250DE - Sound On Sound

    https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/audio-technica-atm250de
Audio-Technica ATM250DE. This 'two-in-one' kick-drum mic aims to offer all the benefits of multi-miking techniques, but without the risk of phase problems. Getting a good kick-drum sound is often quite a challenge, and achieving the ideal balance between the attack of the beater and the ringing of the shell can be too much for one microphone.

Given how flexible this mic is, I think the ATM250DE is a steal at its street price of $300. If you’re afraid you’ll run out of preamp channels with this mic, check out Chris Garge’s review of the Audio-Technica AT8681 UniMix mic combiner in Tape Op #65. ($549 MSRP; Audio-Technica)

Audio-Technica ATM250DE Combination Microphone. The ATM250DE is a second-generation, lower-cost version of the AE2500 dual-element microphone. Both can be used for kick drum, snare, or other instrument miking (e.g. guitar cabinets). Both mics contain both a dynamic and a condenser capsule, mounted side-by-side in perfect phase alignment.

The ATM250DE and the AE2500 seem very interesting to me. I haven't yet had a chance to try those "Dual Element" mics. That said, I own the ATM250, which is just the dynamic element. I think it's a nice improvement over the ATM25. It seems to have a more open high end than the ATM25.

Audio-Technica AE2300 review | MusicRadar

    https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/audio-technica-ae2300
The Audio-Technica AE2300 is a cardioid dynamic instrument mic and the latest addition to Audio Technica’s long-established Artist Elite series. In terms of design, it’s not as fancy as its own dual capsule instrument microphones (the AE2500 and ATM250DE), but is better equipped than their regular ATM250 or ATM230 instrument dynamics, as ...

Audio Technica AE2500 - Sound On Sound

    https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/audio-technica-ae2500
Audio Technica have put two different capsules into the same mic, giving you a choice of different sounds for different occasions. Photo: Mark Ewing The AE2500 is a chubby little microphone which, unusually, contains both a dynamic and an electret capsule, mounted side by side. The idea is that, because each of these capsules inherently has a different sound …
