The bass on the A900X was tight and alive (but not muddy and overpowering), unlike my HD280s which had very weak bass that made music lack a certain kind of fullness. The mids on the A900X is quite rich, making guitar, drums and vocals truly pleasurable to listen to. My HD280s had honky mids that I had to lower using an equalizer.

Audio-Technica ATH-A900 Reviews - Headphone Reviews

The ATH-A900 are very decent headphones. However they do have a metallic edge to their sound. The bass has great impact thanks to the DADS technology borrowed from its higher-end siblings. The ATH-A900 is similar to the higher Audio Technicas in house sound, however the ATH-W2002, and ATH-W1000 are a significant step up.

The Bose did not sound half as good as Audio-Technica ATH-A900 Headphones. The Bose noise cancelling was great, but I like great sound better. I have looked a 12 headphones or more that are in the $200-$350 range, and these are the best reviewed. If you buy the Audio-Technica ATH-A900 Headphonheades, you will not be sorry.

Audio Technica ATH-A900X LTD Review - Headfonics

The midsection of the A900X is clear, detailed and slightly more forward than the bass response. The treble is very nimble and articulate and is allowed to extend and breathe effortlessly due to a fantastically open and spacious soundstage. It is really easy to forget folks that this is actually a closed and not an open headphone.

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Review – GND-Tech

The A900X is on the lower end of the spectrum. The pads are much, much more stiff than real lambskin leather. The pleather used on higher end headphones like the HE-560 is much more soft, very close to real leather. The pads also touch my ears slightly, which can get annoying but never painful.

Review: AudioTechnica ATH-AD900X | Sound & Vision

    https://www.soundandvision.com/content/review-audiotechnica-ath-ad900x
Just to recap the basics of the design: The ATH-AD900X is an open-back headphone, so it offers almost no isolation from external sound, and sound leaks out of the back of the ear pieces. Considering the headphone’s size, its lack of isolation, and the long 3.5-meter, non-detachable cable, it’s unlikely anyone will want to use it on the go.

Listening to music on the A900X is a dream compared to the G4ME ZERO. The bass is more present and the highs are just crisp enough for my taste. Playing games as well is more pleasant with the extra bass and highs the A900X gave me.
