The AT3035 fit the bill. The microphone is fairly sturdy. The body seems to be better made than one would think for the price point. The one problem I had was the cheesy plastic recessed switch that low cut switch. I would say set it and don't change it ever again for fear of breaking the switch. The included shock mount works very well.

Shure recently introduced the KSM 27, and now AT introduces the AT3035, a mic which retails at a staggeringly low $200! This is a medium-sized diaphragm condenser mic with a fixed cardioid pattern and is phantom powered. It comes with a decent shock mount and features low end roll off and 10 dB pad switches.

The AT3035 is a well-built, well-respected low end mic that has held its value. I find the AT3035’s most notable characteristic to be its flat frequency response, which makes it quite versatile. I use it mainly for backup vocals, but it does reasonably well on acoustic instruments.
