    The Shure data on requirements for accurate reproduction of 10kHz was 3.5microns (um) or around 0.15mil (end side tip radius). Seems to me that this is a long way from the 0.7mil spherical radius?! or is the issue simply that we are exaggerating the differences... ie: yes they are there but they are somewhat less than claimed?
