All audio and browser apps are updated to the latest stable versions as well. The audio-sputtering issue ONLY happens with a media player, and only when Chrome or Firefox is rendering a page. I haven't noticed any audio drop-outs when working in IE8 or Opera, but I only keep them around for site testing. Any ideas, folks?

If you play the recording from firefox, you can see that the words are mangled, compared to that from Opera. You can clearly tell that some audio segments are completely skipped over if you slow down the playback. The audio from Opera isn't that different, from what I can hear, to that of Chrome's. I haven't tested it on Safari.

Thanks for replying! Well, YouTube no longer fully loads the video, for me anyway. It loads a few minutes ahead but not the whole thing. Also when buffering, YouTube simply pauses and then it starts again later, this is an audio stutter like when the reception is bad or the device has a hiccup of some sort, the sound is chopped up and repeated for a second or two.
