One: The sound skipping is due to an upgraded HLE audio setup. It skips when the game slows down because that's the accurate way to do it. The old system as used in that video. Audio was always full speed, but it causes a lot (hundreds) of games to crash, lose audio, or have other severe issues.

After spending another 2 hours configuring it to what I thought was the fastest settings that were possible and using a frame skip of 2, it finally became playable. My only gripe is that when it runs below 100% speed, even by a little bit (say, at 99% or 98%), my audio starts chopping periodically and the game stutters a little bit.
