I`m now using The Pass X350 Power Amp and a Audio Research upgraded LS22 preamp. I`ve also used the Ref5 both preamps sound great the Ref5 was just adorable much better control etc. Im wondering would the Pass Xp20 or Xp30 be a better way to go. Likewise the Ref amps I have heard are excellent for the money although quite expensive. The Ref 110 and Ref 150 are a nice step up from the VT and later amp series. Seems like Audio Research is on a bit of a roll lately. Steve, Eric and others should revisit their sound.

I have MSB Analog DAC running direct to Pass Labs XA100.8. Faced with The Dilemma of Choice. REF 6 demo or XP 22? XP 30 is closer in price to Ref 6 but is brand new. Also. read that XP 22 is closer to XS preamp than XP 30. Kindly share YOUR EXPERIENCE.

Since the Ref 110 can operate with four KT120 valves I would love to know how it performs with four Kt 150 valves at half the power rating to be used in a similar manner as with the Ref 75. It will save me from buying a lower powered valve amp as the Ref 110 will only be used to drive midrange and tweeters.
