I am currently watching an MKV file of The Girl with the dragon tattoo. The sound is very low, though. At the start of the film, when the music is playing over the credits, the sound is normal, but when the film kicks in, and the actors start to speak, it becomes very quiet, meaning I have to bump up the volume to max to hear it.

When playing MKV files the sound is very low and she has to turn it up to 30+ to get decent volume levels. For tv she usually has volume at 8 to get the same level volume. Don't think it's a problem with the cable or anything like that because when watching Netflix through the bluray player the volume is fine - it's just with the MKV files.
