No, I simply used the stock power supply unit (the one on the 2nd and 3rd picture) for my Saturn before I changed it to a new one. I do not have any kind of step-down converter for my Saturn at all. All that was changed was the power supply unit, which now uses a 12v power lead. My Saturn is a model 2 VA9 if that helps.
