For USB to MIDI I have the trusty M-Audio MIDISPORT 2x2. And ideally do a backup and record in reverse the same way and verify it by playing it back before attempting the update. I'm a little wary about doing this because I've never done it before and I don't want to brick my BIOS and OS and have to get a new chip.
