Selecting the right inductor for ultra-low distortion ...

    https://e2e.ti.com/blogs_/b/analogwire/posts/inductor-linearity-for-ultra-low-distortion-class-d-audio-amplifiers
It is a 175W Class-D audio amplifier with total harmonic distortion and noise (THD +N) capable of approaching 0.001% in the mid power band. For the TPA3251D2, inductor linearity becomes critical to extract the highest level audio …

ferrite core inductor distortion measurements? | diyAudio

Pardon me for interjecting without having direct experience, but here is a way for measuring inductor distortion. I think this will give a more direct visual indication than the Klipsch IM plots. I haven't done this but I'm pretty sure it would work. See attached diagram. You need to drive the inductor with a power amplifier and an LF oscillator.

US5802182A - Audio process distortion - Google Patents

    https://patents.google.com/patent/US5802182
The audio process is a signal path having a plurality of filters connected or including distortion means. The prime example of this phenomenon surrounds inductances such as found in magnetic tape recorders, spring reverberators, and transformers. The inductors require a pre-emphasis filter to produce a constant current. Secondarily there are the complementary filters …

This Thing We Have About Hysteresis Distortion. ... coil that has a magnetic core. For instance the iron yoke in a speaker driver. It sits inside the voice coil. Or cored inductors in crossover filters. Or the ferrite inductor in a class D amplifier. The cause is the ferromagnetic material that’s added to inductors to bring inductance up to ...

Audio Distortion Meter Circuit with Diagram

    https://www.circuitstoday.com/audio-distortion-meter
Description. H ere is a simple 1KHz audio distortion meter that can measure the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) on any load at any output power. Here you have the option to select 2,4,8 or 16 Ohm loads. The circuit works by filtering the 1 kHz fundamental signal using a notch filter comprising of L1, C2, C1, R1.
