For 2 months I have had a GD R8 2021 audio DAC to replace a Network Player Lumin D1 and the choice to listen to an R2R DAC is up to my expectations. However another player in the DAC market not to mention Denafrips produces quality DACS and the Pontus 2 which is in the same budget as the one I own seems to have some serious advantages.

While I agree Audio-gd's DACs don't measure well, to say unacceptable THD for R2R ladder DACs as a blanket statement is false. Several ladder DACs like Mola Mola's Tambaqui Holo Audio's May DAC measure with extremely low THD. True they cost a shitload more than my D90, and I'd take my D90 any day over them, but let's not pretend there aren't R2R ladder DACs …
