The audio-gd site says the PCM1704 supply has temporarily run out and TI have a delay in manufacturing. Seven 7.1's are in stock. I wonder if the pain of getting a new 7.1 and suffering the prolonged burn in to maturation is worth it in the long run if the sound is better the my current sweet REF7?

I just wanted to let you know that the Master 1 arrived safely and I have been listening to the system with both the Reference 7.1 and the Master 1 in place and all I can say is thank you so much! I have included a picture of the system with the Audio-gd products in place.

Yes I have a friend that has a GD-7.1. I have spent a good amount of time listening to it. I have the wyred for sound Dac-1 with the Dac -2 cap upgrade. The 7.1 audio-gd clearly out classes it. The Wyred is no piece of junk,but the gd7.1 just sounds so smooth and effortless . It is very large and very heavy also.

The Audio-GD HDMI I2S input is great indeed, when source is of good quality. Currently using the Mano streamer from Magna Hifi directly connected to the Audio-GD HDMI port. Really good stuff! On a France forum they did comparison between DI-U8 and some other high-end sources and the Mano seems to do a real good job.
