    I'm not sure about Spotify in particular, but Firefox does have the capability. I don't have a Spotify account, but the samples on this page play in 5.1 through Firefox on my system.. I also get 5.1 from Netflix (with the Netflix 1080p extension), but that content goes through the Widevine plugin, so I'm not sure if it "counts" as Firefox playing 5.1.
