I was initially struck by the outstanding articulation and slam of the bass. This is better than the PH-3 and much better than the Grado and Antique Sound preamps. There is a very quiet black background with the same level of detail and "you are there" feeling as my Meridian 588 cd player but with the "continuousness" of analoque.

Modifying the Concerto. The Concerto is modified in very much the same way as the Symphonies, with a few exceptions. The output capacitors on the Concerto are 2 1uf 250V units (1 per side); the replacement 450V units will fit underneath the black metal cover inside the unit. There are no Wima caps to replace inside the Concerto.

As far as the Concerto goes, it has run without problem for about a year now. Nice build quality, but definately not overbuilt. Changing tubes to experiment, I did have a hard time puting the sheet metal cover back on, as holes were ever so slightly off. Has removeable power cord, should be upgraded in my opinion...seemed to help mine out.

In general, I thought the CONCERTO was a very impressive headphone amp. It has a very clean, highly transparent sound. The mids were very transparent and open, if just a tiny bit forgiving or sweet.
