Audio drift in Same Clip from Digital 8 C… - Apple Community

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252480247
FCP assigned the same project settings as before - 720 x 480, 29.97i FPS, stereo 48 kHz, and Rec. 601 NTSC. When I played back the imported clip, the audio drift was even worse than before. I tried changing the FCP audio setting to 32 kHz, and this made no difference when playing back the imported clip. What am I doing wrong?

How to fix audio sync drift - FCP.co Forum

" this audio begins to drift relative to the audio on camera." This is caused by the audio recorder and video recorder being set to two different sample rates for the audio. Set them both to the same sample rate when you record, and you won't have drift issues. But it is good to know there's a tool to save the day when that happens!

FCP transcodes your audio to that framerate ON IMPORT! I originally had mine set to 24p and then dragged my audio into my Bin. There was my problem. Later, I deleted my zoom audio, set my easy setup to 23.98 and reimported my audio. Wallah! Everything was in sync. Crazy weird issue, but that’s how FCP does it.

25 Hour Day: DSLR Sync Drift in Final Cut Pro

To avoid the problem, I use a program called SoundHack to change the audio header before importing to FinalCut. I change the sample rate spec from the value 96000 (stamped in by the recording device) to the new value, 96009. Then the audio comes into FCP without drift - I just have to align at one spot and sync is then maintained.
