    In the audio settings on the BMPCC you have to set the mic-in jack to "line" and "Channel 2 uses Channel 1 Audio". This is critical. Also, lower the input level on the BMPCC to around 50%. Sometimes to streamline my workflow I'll just leave the Sony in record/pause and I'll capture sync'd audio directly to the BMPCC.
