    Doing the math. 1536 kbps would work out to 16 bit stereo audio at 48 kHz. Were they ripped from DVD rather than CD? DVD can hold 16/48 stereo in lossless PCM or in lossy. If the audio came from 16/48 PCM on a DVD-V or DVD-A, that would explain the 1536 kpbs bitrate.
