The X-Fi Xtreme Audio is a re-named SB Live! 24-bit (which creative no longer sells), and the Audigy SE is actually a completely different, lower quality card. So they took the card I own, changed its name and changed it from a $30 to a $70 card.

X-Fi will be the best card from Creative. I've owned and used Audigy, Audigy 2, Audigy 2 ZS, Audigy 2 something another, and an x-fi. The x-fi quality is better than the Audigy series. Though I'm not sure it's all that noticeable for normal usage. The software, on the other hand, is much better with the x-fi series of cards.

You need to use this one, SB P17X Series Support Pack 2.0 (07/31/2009) - Aud... - Creative Labs. And all the supposed Audigy SE-X-Fi (that would be the Xtreme Audio by the way, which isn't a true X-Fi, but a renamed Audigy SE) mod does is allow you to use some of the X-Fi apps on your card.
