Bought an 6950 card a few weeks ago. I'm using one dvi output for my main display and an hdmi output for my 40 inch LCD 2nd display which i extend my desktop onto. Everything works fine video wise but when I boot windows or something is changing the default audio device from my VIA chipset to the ati hdmi output for no reason.

The PC is connected to the receiver with a newly purchased HDMI Detective+ in between, via HDMI of course, by way of a Sapphire Radeon HD 6950, 2GB version. The receiver is connected to the TV by HDMI, and all is right with the world with the exception of the audio feed coming from the PC.

I just bought a ATI 6950. It is my first graphics card to come with HDMI connection. Before I was using my X-Fi with optical spdif passthru. So that means I am passing the DAC on the X-Fi right? So if I am using the HDMI connection for audio, theoretically it should sound the same as before...
