    The AR-77 is one of my favorite radios. Very sensitive and excellent image rejection on the higher bands for a single conversion receiver with one RF stage. Excellent audio. Also quite stable after a short warm up. The tuning is very smooth, both the band spread and main tuning knobs can be turned with one finger.

    I've had a GR-10 (AR-77 built for the RCAF by RCA, with the beacon band instead of the BC band) for some time, sitting quietly on a shelf waiting for attention. I'm faced with a move later this year (imagine moving over 50 BAs, with an average weight of an R-390A!), and I've contemplated passing it off to someone else.
