One thing I've noticed, is that if I start the video in the iTunes app I don't have the same issue. It only occurs if I start the video from the TV app. And again, this issue where the video freezes, but the audio continues on (which happens every 18 minutes), only started after the TV app update recently.

Help! I have been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. It seems to happen randomly. I will be watching a video on YouTube for example and then the video will freeze and the audio will continue. The only way out is to do a system reset. I have done a factory restore, but the problem continues.

May 31, 2019. #1. In the last few days my Apple TV 4K has developed this issue. After roughly 20 mins of play the screen freezes but the audio continues. Apple of course said to do the regular things (reset, sign out etc) and then told me that it was my HDMI cable. It's been the same cable for the last 2 years.
