    If KDE is installed after a previous installation of Pulseaudio, since Arch Linux default installs phonon-gstreamer, that causes segmentation fault crashes in a number of applications and no sound.     For me too Amarok does not play sounds, although if I test the Music-device from Phonon, it works OK. I don't use pulseaudio. I tried Amarok pre-release as well as stable 2.5.0, Phonon backend is VLC from openSUSE unstable repository.

    Edit:I don't have pulseaudio,I do have phonon and amarok runs great! To install Gentoo I use sysrescuecd.Based on Gentoo,has firefox to browse Gentoo docs and mc to browse (and edit) files. The same disk can be used for 32 and 64 bit installs.
