After resuming, the USB sound card’s audio output is broken and irregularly produces crackling noises. What is possibly causing this? How can I fix this? ALSA USB Headset Crackling Noise - Arch Linux

    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=161084
The crackling noises occured only sometimes and only when playing 48kHz sound files. ALSA or PulseAudio made no difference. My onboard card worked fine. I've fixed it by forcing PulseAudio to 44.1kHz regardless of the sampling rate of the file by adding default-sample-rate = 44100 alternate-sample-rate = 44100

[ubuntu] Obnoxious crackling sound from usb audio …

    https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-806555.html
The speakers had a crackle or clicking sounds when playing videos. This was due to a mismatch in the audio rates. Looking at the output of "sudo lsusb -v" the audio should be able to handle several rates, so maybe the problem is in the linux driver not being complete ?
