oWNED BOTH AND TYPE RS dont really like over their rated power and sundown sa12s love my saz 3500 @ .5ohm without any issues and sound way better. Customer service is A-1 with Sundown but Alpine different story What? Type-Rs seemingly can't get enough power.

Sundown. Alpine Type R is a good sub for a budget and can get pretty loud. Sundown has great products, great CS, and oh yeah they get kinda loud. My dad has the SA-8 and I love it. I'm sure the SA-12 is badass.

Sundown is loudest. I really like the way Type Rs sound for some reason. My vote is for alpine, I have the older model type-r 12 and it is sincerely the best sounding sub and most accurate car sub out there. 500watts in a ported box it hits clean hard and doesn't color bass frequencies like kickers and other subs do.

I think I like the Sundown a little more in my truck but feel like the Alpine gets a little louder and can take a little more power but I have never actually compared them in the same vehicle. I did compare the Sundown SD3-10 directly with my Sundown SA-12 and the SD3 definitely has less distortion and sounds better but the SA-12 is a beast ...
