Somewhat like Genelec, Dynaudio is developing monitors that can move around with ease and gain the trust of the engineers that rely on them. Out of the box, this one is the tallest, the biggest and the heaviest of the bunch, with the most heat sinks, the most buttons and input options, and the most power.

Genelec vs Dynaudio (pro advise) ... I've worked on 1038 a lot, in a studio that also has a set of ADAM S3A. While the 1038 sound decent IF they are tuned correctly (not very often the case) they're still not great for mixing IMHO. Everything sounds nice and big, but doing difficult level rides can be hard on these. ...

The specs state Frequency response (±3dB): 40Hz – 21kHz. Amir's measurements of LYD 5 confirmed that the specs were mostly correct, so I trust Dynaudio on this. G Four specs are ±2.5 dB (48 Hz - 20 kHz). I also trust Genelec, and according to specs, G Four are a bit better, but not that much.

I own Adam A7s (without a sub) and regularly use Genelec 8030A and 8020A - the Adams win hands down IMO. I find the Genelecs sound too 'nice' to start off with, with a low-end hump present in both models (also heard it on the 8040A, although I've only ever demo'd that model), and a definite slight mid-range suckout.

Appreciate any comments, recommendations - leaning towards the foculs at the moment so would be interested in anyones opinion who has used them with an axe fx. Cheers.

    - Genelec. - Dynaudio ... Adam came up with AX series, which are reportedly better than A7s in the areas of high frequency response and phase accuracy (upper range limit moved from 35KHz to 50 KHz). The slight sibilance/hissing/chuffing at loudness close to the max is supposedly fixed too (never bothered me though as I never play them that loud
