One of the test laptops with a Realtek AC'97 ALC250 chip is now immediately hitting a bluescreen in the WHQL cert'd Realtek AC'97 version 6.0.1.6305 audio driver/RTKVAC.SYS on a Realtek ALC250 chip. Disabling the driver allows the system to function again, but obviously with no audio. This is on a Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi laptop.

AC97 device needed hardware accel decreased to 1 setting above lowest (max setting with which sound would work) AC97 has that spiffy auto port detect hardware stuff (Gigabyte Motherboard integrated) did not mess with the settings in the Gigabyte app for the sound card . . . wonder what that would do! There was no difference between the sound card I tried and the on-board Realtek AC'97 with the stuttering (although to be fair, the sound card is an older pci card - Soundblaster Live!).
