Your Two AC3 inputs are probably "Digital Coax" inputs, They use the same RCA input connector as analog inputs do. For AC3 you can use a Digital Coax cable from your DVD player or other source or fibre optic "Toslink". Also note that you can't use standard audio patch cables for Digital Coax, you'll need to get a special cable for that.

I am sure now. I can use Audio Hijack to hijack digital in. So, AC3 source -> TOSLINK INPUT of Mac -> TOSLINK output of Mac -? A/V receiver DOES play DD.
