I'm having the same issue with a NVidia GeForce 9400 GT. The PCI express card has three ports in the back - HDMI, VGA and DVI. I'm using Windows 7 - 64bits. and the latest Nvidia Driver available. (257.21 - 2010.06.15) The HDMI port is not working when I connect it to a TV. Windows does not recognize it or make any sound when I plug it.

Well, so far, using the dedicated coax lead has solved the problem with the sound not working via the HDMI. (Although not ideal), which shows that this is likely to be a graphics card problem. Regarding the video problem, it seems that now that I have saved the default profile in the NVIDIA configuration settings the problem no longer exists.

Hi, I am confused here! The audio input for the geforce 9400gt has 2 pins, but 3.5mm green jack has 3 ie ground, left channel, right channel. I have a similar problem with my nvidia card ie no audio over hdmi when connected to tv. Other hdmi devices to tv work fine.
