I think the card is sending an audio signal through the DVI-HDMI cable (apparently it is not true that DVI doesn't carry audio?) and the TV is listening to IT instead of the RCA cables. I know audio is getting to the PC jack because I can hear it when I plug my headphones in. I tried the DLPFIX hotfix, but that didn't do squat.

edit: some G92 cards dont work either, my first gen 8800GT wont work with SPDIF audio, it was a known bug at the time of launch fixed with 9800GT's. edit 2: and you definitely need an DVI to HDMI adaptor, cant use straight DVI. not all adaptors will pass audio either, so try more than one. You then just have to switch your audio output to digital output or something like that in windows.

An adapter can take the DVI standard and translate to HDMI, but passing audio through depends on how the DVI connector is setup outside the spec to provide the audio pth. Worse, the reference GT board HAS the SPDIF passthru on the PC board, but noone so far has populated the components to activate the circuit.
