I have my MP3 player connected to the aux input jack. I converted my entire CD collection (about 400 CDs) to MP3s, then downloaded them all to my MP3 player. I had installed an aux input device in my 2004 Prius; now I just use the built-in aux input jack.

The cable that comes with the Audio2car kit plugs into an EMPTY connection on the BACK of the 2004 Prius radio. The kit includes the box needed to hook audio input to the Toyota radio. In order to get to the back of the radio you do have to temporarily remove some dash covers, etc. Probably not for everyone.
