128K or 320K audio quality - Apple Community

128k Versus 320k should be like night and day, unless you're an idiot. 128k will sound washy, thin and gross. 320k should sound very close to original CD quality. Don't use Joint Stereo as it mucks with the stereo imagery. I wouldn't recomend to 'Cut below 10Hz' and there's no point in using VBR with 320k.

What Audio Bitrate Should I Use - SeniorCare2Share

Which audio quality is best 128k or 256k? Audio file bit rates are measured in thousands of bits per second, or kbps. I mentioned above that a CD contains audio at 1,411 kbps, and when you convert that audio to a lossy file, its bit rate is much lower. A higher bit rate is better, so a 256 kbps MP3 or AAC file is better than a 128 kbps file.

128 kbps quality vs 256. I constructed a playlist in iTunes so it would fit on my iPod nano. I just synced that playlist on my iPod and the file size was about half of that on the computer. All the songs were converted from CD's to iTunes. After some research I found that all the CD's had been converted at 256 kbps but when I synced the iPod ...
