Here's a recent trick I stumbled onto with a 1 meg reverse audio taper pot used as a volume. You can use the volume in a way that is quite effective and with differing results than a typical pot. If you hook the pot up backwards, meaning that the middle lug is the input and lug three is the output, you get a cool effect from how the pickups and pot interact.
