SoundPort® At audio-digital.net's SoundPort® you can forward your source material. Expressing Sound in Words In order to understand your sound requirements we need to communicate. You may fill out a SoundInWords® form, either on the web or via a print. I developed it to allow as many verbal descriptions of sound as possible. It is available in english and german. It is based on the idea that technicians and artists actually have a shared vocabulary, and that is a vocabulary that is not specific for one of the two domains, technology and art. Of course the engineer cannot directly translate your statements into parameters of the mix, but it helps a great deal to understand your idea. The SoundInWords® form is a unique way to express sound in words. You may use it for your own purposes, I'd be happy if you leave the information included pointing to Audio-Digital.net as is. However, sound is hard to express in words, so the best way is to send a sample of a recording which is very much like the result you expect. A Personal Approach If you don't have an idea of how the results should sound like, leave it to us! In my aesthetic point of view each recording has its own useful sound. We sympathize with mastering engineers who turn against the volume war. But there are musical styles like Techno or NuMetal that need to be as loud as possible, "in your face", to be effective.
